From the Principal

Welcome to our new Principal for 2009,
Mrs Berna Buzaglo

Welcome to Bayswater North Primary School’s website. We trust that you will find this site useful and informative. It is a window into our school and will give you access to various school documents as well as provide information about what is happening around our school. It will allow you to see examples of some of our children’s work and provides you with a direct e-mail link to our school.

Bayswater North Primary School is an outstanding school with around 500 students from over 400 families, 43 staff members and an annual budget of $2.5 million. The school is the major non-residential feature of the dormitory estate surrounding it, apart from the adjoining Council-run Arrabri Community Centre and two kindergartens.

Our school offers a comprehensive curriculum in the eight Key Learning Areas identified by the Victorian Board of Studies, (English, Mathematics, Studies of Society and Environment, Science, Technology, The Arts, Languages Other Than English – German, Health and Physical Education.) Our school focuses on Literacy and Numeracy and has made these priority areas in our current three year Charter.  We are part of the Boronia cluster of schools involved in the Schools for Innovation and Excellence. The goal of this project is to enhance students’ engagement and connectedness to school, particularly in the Middle Years of schooling, (Years 5 – 9). Other schools involved with us on this project are, Boronia Primary School, Boronia Heights Primary School, The Basin Primary School and Boronia Heights College. A feature of our school is the Information and Communication Technology used in our education programs. We have an excellent ratio of 4 students per computer work station. This includes computers in classrooms and a computer laboratory.

Relationships are of utmost importance to us at Bayswater North Primary School, reflected in our motto of “Caring for Children – Working with Parents”. We encourage open communication between staff, children and parents as we believe that this is crucial to successful schooling and positive outcomes for children’s learning.

Thankyou for visiting our website and taking the time to read a little more about us. We welcome your feedback and encourage you to contact us. If you would like to visit us in the ‘real world’ we offer obligation free tours of our school at work or you can speak to us by dialling +61 3 9729 1744 during the school term between business hours (Australian Eastern Standard Time, or Summer time between November and March)
